Mum and Dad's New Kitchen

I've used the same supplies to all the pages - well, I haven't used fibers on every page but when I use fiber I use the same so I've made one supply list for all these layouts and it's at the bottom of this page.

Title: Mom & Dad's new kitchen 2000

This is the frontpage to a section in my 2000 scrapbook about my mum and dad's new kitchen.

Title: The old kitchen

This double page spread is about the old kitchen, how it used to be.

Journaling:

This is how the old kitchen looked; the one Peter and I grew up with. Actually not very nice - and very dark!

But so many memories are attached to this kitchen. My drawing on the wall, my finger painting that sort of resembles a duck, the ugly yellow closets which Richie lay in front of, the table we always had our meals at, the stickers on the wall - both the birds and the sausages ...

And this was the kitchen we spend hours every christmas baking cookies in, making marcipan and all sorts of other stuff.

But it was ugly and badly decorated - and it was about time it was replaced with a new and better kitchen with more room and better decorating.

Title: The Transformation

This double page spread shows the actual process of getting the new kitchen and how my parents 'survived' the ordeal.

Journaling:

In the period where the kitchen was being build, everything was a bit chaotic. As seen in the pictures, the kitchen was of course completely cleared so food had to be made another place in the house - mum had a small oven and the coffee maker on a table in the basement. (More pictures under this)

I added a mini album to this part of the kitchen scrapbook to showcase some more pictures. There are three pictures in the album - the picture above show the first part of the album with one picture and some journaling.

Journaling:

As can be seen of the next pictures, several tables in the house were used to store all the stuff removed from the kitchen - and even the refrigeator was moved.
Luckily it all ended well - as can be seen of the next pages. It turned out to become a really nice kitchen.

Title: The new kitchen

Subtitle:And this is how good it got!!!

Journaling:

Mum and dad's new kitchen turned out very nice. It is very nice looking and had more space than before. Instead of some very huge cabinets that were impossible to keep order in, there now are smaller, more practical cabinets. And there are a really cool cabinet where the shelves can be turned around ... And it all have a very nice looking finish. It has turned out very well!

Supplies:

Layouts made November 9, 10 and 12 2004.

I've procrastinated on making these layouts for so long ... couldn't figure out a way to do them... But finally I figured out that the weather kit actually matches the pictures of especially the new kitchen very well. And when I first figured out how to make the entire section in the same colors and with similar layouts but still with variations, it just all came together. All in all it's a 7-page spread covering this change in my childhood home.
