G3 Ponies - Welcome to Ponyville!

These tables shows my collection of G3-ponies - the wonderful new series of ponies that came out in 2003.

I'm currently working on making a page about each of the ponies with pictures and information but it's a slow process.

Well, the G3 ponies are coming out very fast and it's impossible to keep up with on a low income unfortunately... So I'm just trying to get what I can, get my favourites that is. But of course, I want them all. It's somehow feels more managable to get ponies being issued now than the ponies that came out 20 years ago... Well, or not at the rate Hasbo is making them... There are over a hundred ponies of the new generation - I have 29 ponies (not counting My So-Soft Baby Pony Rose Blossom or the Tiny Tins Minty or the SDCC promotion pony) so I have a very long way to go if I want to get them all. And I do ... You know it, and I know it - no question about it.

It's a bit OT but I just have to add - since I'm working on my Master Thesis about collecting - that the idea of wanting everything in a series and collecting an entire line etc didn't develop untill mass production and commercialism began. Until then, it was simply impossible to get it all and the notion didn't really exist in a collector's mind. For instance, who could dream of owning all Impressionist paintings? Or just all paintings by Renoir or Monet? Nobody ... But it is possible to get all ponies - at least the G3 ones. That's the dream and I'm sticking by it!!!

2003 Ponies - Year of the Celebration

I was lucky and got Dazzle Surprise as a gift from Hasbro - I love her to pieces. She's just gorgeous!!! And especially to get a mail-order pony that it's impossible to get in Europe!

2004 Ponies - the Friendship Ball

Well, luckily collectors have a tendency to look out for each other. So now I have the second pony offered in the pony point programme, Sunshimmer, thanks to a fellow collector in the US. Thanks hon! You know who you are!!!

So far, Desert Rose is my favourite ... She's just such a cute and gentle looking pony with her soft pink hair, white body and beautiful rose symbol. And boy, does she sparkle ... lol

2005 Ponies - Butterfly Island

Finance has been a bit tight recently so not much pony bliss here. Therefore, 2005 is so far a bit empty. But I'm starting to get soem and I've also gotten the My Little Pony SDCC Exclusive. This pony was an exclusive at the San Diego Comic-Com 2005 and apparently, there was only made 2000 of her. As soon as I get her, I'll post pics! So far, you can read more about her here.
