I love bunnies - I have had the joy of having 5 bunnies in my life. Mussi was the first one but that was when I was a child and she lived in a cage in the garden unfortunately. But later, I got Mulle, Gizmo, Theodore and Alexander and learned about House Rabbit Socity - and my bunnies' life got so much better because of this! Unfortunately Xander passed away shortly before Christmas 2005 so now there's no bunnies in my life. I miss them!
This picture shows Mulle, Gizmo and Alexander (Xander). Three of my bunnies. In this picture they all three cuddle up in what was Mulle's cage. Aren't they adorable?
Mulle was the oldest - he was the first pet I bought for myself. He and I had a special connection and he was such a clever bunny. As weird as it may sound, he taught me a lot. He was an amazing bunny and I still miss him so much.
Gizmo was the cuddly, curious bunny. He was always seeking attention and loved all kinds of weird stuff like chocolates, cake and cookies. Gizmo was a daddy's boy. He and his dad had something so special - when Giz was young, they used to chase each other through the appartment. They could cuddle for hours ...
Xander is the youngest one. He's a lop and we got him on April 1st 2000 so he's a April Fool's bunny. :0) He's a very unattentive bunny - he can lie and sleep and suddenly something scares him and he takes off. Or you can pet him for 15 minutes and suddenly he discovers that you are sitting right there and he panicks... He is however very sweet and such a nice bunny. I'm so happy to have him still - although I miss his 'brothers'.

Theodor was the sweetest soul. We got him in the beginning of January 2000 and he was the millenium bunny. We had him for about 3½ month before we had to have him put to sleep. He was 1 year old when we got him and his previous owners hadn't been to good to him and hadn't let him out of his cage or fed him proper food to keep his teeth in order. So we couldn't save him.
During the time we had him, however, we got to know a very kind and wise bunny. He was very attention seeking - especially when we first got him and the first times he was out of his cage, he was nearly impossible to get him back in because he wasn't used to that kind of freedom. But we gave him 3½ nice months with freedom and love - and we were so sad to loose him so soon.

Here's some cuddly time between Xander and me. He loves to be scratched and if it's really good, he licks your hand or arm or bites your sweater or something - mutual grooming. I try to do this often with him, now he hasn't any brothers to groom with anymore.
This picture shows Mulle, Gizmo and Xander curiously looking at a ball filled with goodies. Especially Gizmo loved chasing it when it was filled with the vitamins he loved so much. The other two mostly just threw the ball away when Gizmo pushed it close to them.

Quotes from the House Rabbit Society homepage:
The House Rabbit Society believes that ALL rabbits are valuable as individuals, regardless of breed purity, temperament, state of health, or relationship to humans. The welfare of all rabbits is our primary consideration.
Rabbits are intelligent, social animals who require mental stimulation, toys, exercise, environmental activity, and social interaction (from, as appropriate, people, other rabbits, or other animals).
